Check for customer reviews (launches new window)
This 1890’s home was once occupied by one of Mason City’s signature families, “The Decker’s”. Jacob E. Decker purchased the Decker Meat Packing Plant, which was located in Mason City’s north end, for $6000.00 in 1901. The plant proved to be a thriving business for the Decker’s and for Mason City’s economy. The plant was sold to Armour Meat Packing Plant in 1935 for 4.972 million dollars and closed for good in 1975. Purchased by the Mason City Foundation, the Decker House was renovated as a bed and breakfast, and is becoming a popular getaway
for those looking for the comfort and intimacy found in hotels.
